Biography
Youssef El Saai is the founder and Managing Director of Scaliance, based in Montreal. A licensed landscape architect with a degree in urban infrastructure engineering from the École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS), he spent ten years on the Quebec and Canadian market, leading teams inside established design, planning and engineering firms.
To deliver his own projects, he often turned to technical talent abroad, and saw first-hand how much Egypt could offer North American firms: drafters, modellers and BIM coordinators able to produce to Canadian and US codes. He founded Scaliance to make that model simple and reliable.
At Scaliance, he structures the collaboration between firms and their dedicated resources, follows the teams day to day and safeguards the quality of every deliverable, adapting to each client's tools and organisation. On the blog, he writes about the true cost of technical production, engineering outsourcing and how AI is changing drawing production.
